Detailed Daily Maintenance Methods for CMMs
    A

Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) are high-precision measuring equipment that undergo thorough debugging, testing, and compensation before leaving the factory. Therefore, strict requirements are placed on their use and maintenance. Timely maintenance can extend the machine's service life, ensure accuracy, and reduce failure rates. 1. Before starting daily work, clean all exposed surfaces of the air bearing guideway sliding channels with high-thread-count, lint-free gauze soaked in 99% pure industrial anhydrous ethanol. Clean the worktable surface and the surfaces of the probe heads and standard balls used for calibration. Wipe the air bearing guideway surfaces under the dust cover with alcohol weekly to remove dust from the dust cover. 2. Monitor the temperature and humidity in the measurement room to ensure they remain within the manufacturer's specified range. Maintain daily records of temperature and humidity control. If the CMM has not been used for an extended period, perform preparatory work before startup. Regularly open the control cabinet to allow the circuit boards to dry thoroughly, preventing damage to the electrical control system due to moisture before power-up. Replace the sponge filter in the control cabinet monthly. 3. Check the machine's air source, drain water and oil, and regularly clean the filters and oil-water separators. Inspect the air supply device for looseness or damage, and check the CMM's outer cover for looseness or damage. 4. Periodically apply a small amount of anti-rust oil to the light rods, lead screws, and racks. 5. Check the power supply before startup, equip with a voltage stabilizer, and regularly inspect the grounding to ensure the grounding resistance is less than 4 ohms.
